Art by Kaki

Kaki Birtel has her roots in Texas, but grew up in New Orleans. In 1999 she began painting on her own and then started taking formal lessons The New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts.

On painting Kaki says, " I love the interplay of color in abstract shapes. I tend to begin a painting with my favorite color, add to it, add more shapes, lines, circles, and voila, a wonderful picture. I paint in oil, acrylic, pastels, and various other media. To me, each painting is a wonder such as life is."
